A jewel!
The story of 3 days and 6 women, set in the fever ward of an Irish maternity hospital during the Spanish Flu pandemic of the early 1900s.
Pandemic synchronicity aside (although the timing is spectacular), this is a very female story, in the best sense of the word. Brave, intimate, poignant - an absolute treasure.
Don't expect it to be anything like the author's first big hit (Room) - this is better!
