The Writing Retreat by Julia Bartz

3.0

pros: queer murder mystery thriller about writers, entertaining in a campy way, would absolutely attend this retreat if we replace the murder-y stuff with the game assassins

cons: the pacing is odd, the character arcs don’t make a ton of sense, and the queerness actually feels kinda forced? I wish it had picked a genre and stuck with it instead of trying to straddle three or so and not really nailing any of them.
