Loveable characters: Yes
Diverse cast of characters: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

The superficial main topic of the book is: boy problems.
But actually it's: living in a racist and misogynistic world, i.e. a misogynoir world.
Everything Queenie goes through can be broken down to this societal root problem.
Her childhood traumas? Misogynoir.
Her relationship issues? Misogynoir.
Her problems at work? Misogynoir.
And it's all intertwined.

I found the book less funny than the blurbs make it out to be, but I liked the book a lot anyway. Still, I found parts of it incredibly hard to read because I recognised how badly Queenie treated herself and I just wished she'd get help, but it took her so long to realise that herself. I was so glad when she finally did.

Some sentences were so good that I actually marked them, something I never do with fictional books. Still, I missed the final spark to really fall in love with it, so it's "only" a 9.5/10.
