A Tale of Mirth and Magic by Kristen Vale
2.5
medium-paced
Strong character development: Yes
Flaws of characters a main focus: Yes

No, you know what the more I think about this book the more I don't like it. Why did one character's entire personality need  to be about how desired she is and the other character had to be about how undesired he is?? The power imbalance in their relationship makes me uncomfortable

Idk is plain? Character development is there but it's literally spelled out for you like a, b, c! And our homie Barra doesn't actually have any dev of his own, like maybe mans could've been more confident and self assured at the end instead of obsessing over this woman who doesn't want him. But he remains as helpless as on page 1. Her character development was good I guess but she was just the worrrrst and I understand that's sort of the point and she's not meant to be like likeable in the first... 80%? Of the book but hello this is a romance if I'm not cheering for them to be together what is the point
