Tuck Everlasting
by Natalie Babbitt
While Tuck Everlasting definitely isn't a book I liked, it's hard to say that it was terrible. The problem I have is that this book, the first half in particular, just sorta had a weird atmosphere or vibe to it. Like I said, I can't seem to pinpoint it. But when I read this book about a decade ago (well, the first half anyways) I got the exact same feeling from it.
I never really was fond of any of the characters, even Winnie. She's a tad too curious for her own good. And I never really could trust the Tucks.
Overall I just felt like this was a random hodgepodge plot that didn't seem to go anywhere.
Pros:
-It's very short.
Cons:
-The characters. Just couldn't become fond of them.
-The plot was lacking.
-Didn't care for the writing style at all.

Spoiler
Honestly I felt sorry for them, having to live forever and all, but they came off more creepy than lovable to me. And at the ripe old age of 11, I felt Winnie was too young to be so smitten with Jessie. Especially since he was 17 on the outside, yet had lived nearly 200 years of life. #awkward I was glad in the end that Winnie didn't drink from the well, though. I felt she made the right decision.Overall I just felt like this was a random hodgepodge plot that didn't seem to go anywhere.
