Dark Road to Darjeeling by Deanna Raybourn
3.0
Not too bad. I love the protagonist and narrator, and I'm glad to see that Raybourn has continued to find complexity and drama in the relationship between Lady Julia and Brisbane even after their marriage. The mystery was gripping, with a surprising outcome.
Still, it's a good read, and I rushed over to the library to pick up the next installment.

The only thing that bothered me was the death at the very end of the book. I thought "OH NO! What are you doing! Haven't we dealt with enough already?" and had to walk away from the book for a full day before I could read the rest (I told myself it was because I was busy with year-end chores, but I knew the truth: I felt sadly abused by the author).Still, it's a good read, and I rushed over to the library to pick up the next installment.
