When the Sleeper Wakes by H.G. Wells
2.0

A man from the late 1800's falls into a coma and wakes up 200 years later to find out he is king of the world, due to compounding interest on savvy investments made by his guardians. I wanted to like this, as I am a fan of Wells and the premise seemed interesting. However, I found it very boring. Most of the book is long, but confusing, descriptions of the futuristic city and some of the technology. Very little happens plot-wise. For the first twenty chapters, Graham is held in isolation, then he learns to fly aeroplanes, then he takes a tour of the city. Also, racism.
