House of Salt and Sorrows by Erin A. Craig
4.0

Intrigue, mystery, death, and gods.
I was sucked in from the beginning, never knowing what on earth was going to happen next. Annaleigh was an interesting character to follow, watching her madness spiral in a world where things just make no sense. Some twists and turns that I never expected, especially the step mother. Unable to decipher truth from lies, reality from nightmares. I wish the ending had explained things a little further - what happened to their father? They never discuss a body. Her human brother, did they find his body? Their father took him from the room and was never seen again. The misunderstandings in the end with the memories being warped, are there apologies? The girls being terrified of the MC, thinking she’d killed their youngest sister - and other sisters. What happened to the Weeping Woman god-thing? She just vanished? Same with the trickster? Just felt like so much was unsaid.
I wish the seven months chapter at the end filled in more blanks, I just want these girls - the last remaining - to have proper happy endings.
Also, I love the romance with Cassius - but even that was a little off for me. Felt like I could never trust him with everything else going wrong.
Still loved it. Highly recommended.
