21 Lessons for the 21st Century by Yuval Noah Harari

3.0

A play on Timothy Snyder's On Tyranny, Harari offers here a handful of essays presenting challenges we'll face in the future. As I previously read Snyder's lessons, I anticipated something of the same character. Harari has good depth to the problematization in his essays, however, they lack scope. The essays quickly become repetitive and blend into each other. My last critique regards the conclusion, where I deem "meditation" to be an insubstantial closing. Besides this, the book offers good insight into contemporary dilemmas and promotes an examination of societal structures.
