Literary Horror has quickly become a favorite genre. This book is the standout of all I have read thus far that I believe would fall into that category. It makes me hungry for more, but also worried whatever I find will not live up to this book.

This book is about so much more than the horrors you find in its pages. It is about motherhood, grief, belonging, displacement, and the meaning of home. This book had me frantically underlining passages and quotes as quickly as it had me either relating to it or cringing away from it in terror. I can't wait to read more Nat Cassidy.

Oh, and do yourself a favor, and read the author's note at the end.
