Overall, I really enjoyed my time with The Will of the Many and I can't wait to dive into Book 2 when it eventually comes out! I'm a sucker for the "chosen one" trope and this one takes that to another level. Vis was a compelling character to follow, along with quite the tragic backstory which made me root for him even harder. Seeing him rise through the ranks (literally) at the elite Catenan Academy was a lot of fun. This also features some engrossing character dynamics between him and his friends that only added to the experience in the best way.

The reason why I knocked off a star in my rating is because, while the story is fun, engaging, and dramatic, I found certain bits quite predictable. I think ahead a lot while reading any book, so if I'm able to guess one or two things that happen, I don't hold it against the author because that's just the side effect of an overactive brain. However, if it becomes a pattern, it starts to take away from my reading experience. I found myself being able to guess moderate and even a few major plot points well before they happened, which was unfortunate.

Additionally, our main character Vis reminded me a little too much of Darrow from Red Rising. Now, this isn't necessarily a bad thing as I love the Red Rising saga, but I couldn't help but notice it A LOT while reading the book.

Having said all of that, I still think this was excellent and as mentioned above, I can't wait for Book 2! I also need to dive into Islington's Licanius trilogy at some point this year...
