If this book had been any longer I would’ve been very annoyed and probably would not have finished it. As it stood, it was about a two day read and flew by very quickly. That’s one of the few points in its favor. Such a good premise wasted.

So basically this is a love story where you never get to hear the main couples point of view. Hard to imagine right? Well it’s also hard to pull off.

We literally hear from everyone from a park bench to squirrels to baristas to friends of friends, but we never get to hear any kind of perspective from Gabe or Lea. I think I would’ve been okay with it if the last chapters had been one of each from their perspectives, but ends with Lea‘s random gay best friend and adds no substantial value to the story.

So over the course of like nine agonizing months, these two college kids orbit around each other and overlap and take classes together and have mutual friends and clearly like each other but never do anything about it. That is the entire book. Spoiler alert: they get together in the end.

I feel like this is some sort of self-published or Amazon published book. Spite it’s cute cover, how could something like this really get published? Okay, that was a little mean, I take it back. Some parts of it were funny I guess that might be it. All in all I would say if you’ve read this review you can probably skip reading the novel itself.
