Leah On The Offbeat by Becky Albertalli

3.0

First of all, I love Becky Albertalli's writing and Simon and Bram are the actual cutest. I also love Leah's sarcasm and seeing her thought processes goes a long way to explain her behaviour.

But oh *spoiler!* I wish Leah didn't get Abby. Don't get me wrong, it's just that Abby seems to thrive on people loving her and it felt for a lot of the novel like she was messing Leah about and God, I agreed with all of Leah's angry rants both thought and said over that. It was like Abby used her assumptions to force Leah into a situation she wasn't ready for. I wish they had resolved themselves to be roommates and Leah met someone else who blew Abby out the water and then they could have developed a decent friendship. And Leah could have been with someone who cared for her just as much and didn't dick her about.

Basically, this book was great for Brimon and Leah's sense of insecurity, but made me fucking hate Abby Suso.
