The New Jim Crow: Mass Incarceration in the Age of Colorblindness by Michelle Alexander
challenging
informative
medium-paced
5.0
“The mass incarceration of people of color is a big part of the reason that a black child born today is less likely to be raised by both parents than a black child born during slavery”
An incredible look at the mass incarceration problem in America and the disproportionate effect it has on people of color. I thought the updated intro for the 10th anniversary edition was a nice touch to add onto this already profound work. 100% recommend to anyone looking for a good nonfiction read.
