The sheer amount of hate this book has gotten is shocking and unnecessary.
While not my favourite in the series I did enjoy finally getting Hugh and Lizzie's story and talk about heartbreaking.
Reading about Lizzie's trauma and seeing everything she has been through and at such a young age was shocking but shines a light on what does go on in this world and for the people complaining this was just kiddie porn have not grasp the concept of this book. Without the explicit details it wouldn't have the same effect if the details weren't' t mentioned in the book.
The only thing I had trouble with was the way the characters spoke when they were suppose to be 6+ and felt that children that age just wouldn't talk like that or have an understanding of certain things. It was easy to think they were a lot older than they actually were. Also the fact that not one person believed her was terrible, what type of parents treat their child like that, thank god she had Hugh who always supported her.
This series deals with so much trauma and heartbreak but Chloe talks about topics that often get swept under the rug because people find it too uncomfortable to even think could happen.
Even from reading Taming 7 I had no idea what Lizzie's past was going to contain but it makes so much more sense and makes me want to go back and read Taming 7 again. Lizzie's bi polar at such a young age was heart breaking and once again people claiming it wouldn't happen to a child at such a young age really need to do more research instead of being in disbelief over these stories. Lizzie has never been my favourite character in the series but I now have more of an understanding of her hatred against Gib's and how Mark has twisted it all and made her believe her sister dying was his fault. It was hard to read that no one believed her over anything and just kept calling her crazy
