I read this book because so many people have compared it to Outlander. Unfortunately, this book is no where in the league of Outlander. I found this book was 50% longer than it needed to be. The story basically wraps up halfway though and the rest of the book is just filler and/or set up for the next book in the series. For me this was just a run of the mill historic fiction genre book. I didn't love it, I didn't totally hate it. I won't be reading the rest of the books in the series.
