Disturbing but important.
This is the story of a 15 year old girl being groomed by a 42 year old man, leading her to live a complicated and disturbed life. The terrible terrible thing about this book is how easily I could see myself falling for everything that Vanessas teacher told her. The ending isn’t satisfying, but it doesn’t make story any less important. This book is the answer to all this over romanticized student teacher romances and all those Lolita retelling. It’s time to stop romanticizing minors being groomed by people that have power over them.
