4.0
Highlights:
Small, Coastal Town in the PNW
Royal Romance: Princess in Hiding
Unrequited Love / Secret Crush
Brother's Best Friend & Friends to Lovers
Forced Proximity: Only One Bed!
A Hint of Grumpy / Sunshine
Clean and Wholesome
This was such a sweet, adorable romance! I loved every minute of this story - from the laidback, beachside town, to the charming townspeople to the royal princess in hiding, this story couldn’t have been better.
Author Kristin Canary delivers a heartwarming romance between royal princess Chloe Huntington and her temporary bodyguard and brother’s best friend, Frederick Shaw. With delicious forced proximity and a hint of fake dating, the longing and desire between these two simply made my heart burst! Their love story was so tender and that much more rewarding when they admit their feelings to each other.
The gentle pace of this story kept me entertained from beginning to end. I enjoyed meeting new characters along the way and the protective nature Frederick had over Chloe. It was also fun to read a hint of grumpy/sunshine between them and it was easy to see why Frederick loved Chloe; she was a bright and refreshing character! It was sweet to see them work together, along with their new friends, to do something surprising and kind for the ones they love while discovering new things about themselves and each other along the way. Witnessing them discover a sense of belonging with each other nearly made my heart burst!
I would most certainly recommend this story to readers who enjoy a heartwarming, small-town romance or readers who love a good royal romance. Also, for readers who enjoy a handful of swoon-worthy, sizzling kisses without any smut, this is for you!
Content Warnings + Trigger Warnings: G Rated. Detailed kisses and appropriate touching. No Trigger Warnings.
