3.5

What I enjoyed about this book:
  • Found family trope
  • Gender role reversal
  • Deeper themes of working through CPTSD, attachment trauma, self esteem issues
  • Pacing and short chapters
  • Dialogue between the characters and the scenes with the family
  • Slow burn romance
  • Ways I could relate to the character that hurt but because they caused me to look at myself deeper
What I didn’t enjoy:
  • Side characters were underdeveloped and annoying
  • Dead mom trope-while I understand the point later on
  • Some misogynistic themes
  • Some aspects of the plot felt random,  out of place, the pace began to drag toward the end and picked up again in the last 40 pages.
