Beautiful World, Where Are You by Sally Rooney

emotional funny hopeful inspiring reflective medium-paced
i love this one. perhaps my fave sally rooney. this was so visceral and relatable and in a weird way everything i wanted satc to be.

this is perhaps my favorite type of book because it's about how important the people in our lives are and how nothing else really matters. messy events and inner lives may cloud things up but when it disappears, it all clears up. rooney is very good at describing things you've felt but haven't been able to put a finger on. it's such a different style than her other books and that's probably why i love it a hair above the rest.

either way, i feel like i can't fully describe how great this is. i almost need to do a reread straight through so i can truly soak it in. but wow. everything i needed toward the end: the simon/eileen & felix/alice discussions - hit me hard towards the end - that vulnerability that changed everything, sheesh.
