This Time Tomorrow
by Emma Straub
Alice is turning 40, her father is dying and she's re-evaluating her life and choices. She's not exactly unhappy, but is she happy? Suddenly she wakes up and is 16 again. Her father is healthy and vibrant and she's maybe got a chance to do it all over again. But does she want to?
I love a good time travel story. And I love a good New York story. This book melded the two together perfectly. I loved all the NY details and all the little 90s details (Jordan Catalano, Jenna Rink!). It was just so much fun for me. I could see if you weren't a teen in the 90s where many of the references might not make sense to you and won't hit that nostalgic chord for you.
I loved seeing the relationship between father and daughter and it made me really think about my relationship with my dad and also how I'm being perceived by my kids now.
There really wasn't much about this book I didn't like. It was an easy, breezy read and I felt good after reading it. All things that are positive for me. This would make a great beach read this summer!
Thanks @netgalley for the ARC!
