A Romeo and Juliet retelling set in 1926 Shanghai - are you sold already?
This was my last read in June and I really enjoyed it. If you like reading fast paced fantasy mystery stories with a kickass Heroine, this is the book for you. I loved the supporting cast - Benedict, Marshall and Kathleen but that cliffhanger in the end!!! Gahhh… I have to wait so long for the sequel! Sigh..
The thing I loved the most about this book however was the 2.5 page acknowledgment section in the end!! I love authors who take the time to thank people and let us in on the journey of writing and the crew needed to support your writing🥰 The author notes in the end was helpful too where she mentions that the setting in the story is based on actual historic data of how Shanghai was that time, just the characters are fictional 🙂 So thank you @thechloegong for this well researched entertaining book!! 🌸
