A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

This book is massive and all that for a pov from Nesta?

My first thoughts reading the book:
An intervention is always done with the best intentions, when loved ones seem to be going under, losing their will to live, engaging in activities detrimental to one's health. But even as an intervention might be needed and might be a good thing in the end, it often breaks the one receiving it down to their bones. Make everything worse in the hope that maybe in the end all will be righted. It keeps coursing through my mind, keeps me glued to the book and keeps me reading because I want to know... what will happen to Nesta?

“Keep reaching out your hand.”

Further on in the book:
Why? Why does she act like that? Small glimpses of the reason(s) are being shared, with an ever so slow pace... And it makes me want to keep on reading because the only thing I think is Why? And then a couple of pages later I go... Oh... I see...

“Whatever you need to throw at me, I can take it. I won't break.”

Still a but further in the book:
I was almost saying it out loud... why don't you get it? Why do none of you see it? And right about the point where I started to really get annoyed by the obliviousness I get hit with another feeling and my head starts shouting YES! Yes yes yes... finally! And then I was hit with a could it be? And an aaaah, oh my god…. the spiciness!

“I like to read. I cannot survive without reading.”

This book.... it does not disappoint. I was eager to finish it but also didn't want it to end. I could not put it down but still took my time to revel in this world of powerful and mighty women and men, of love and friendship, battles and deceit. This book, no this series, it made me cry, laugh and hope. I got swept away dreaming and found parts of myself I didn't even know I had been ignoring. I cannot recommend this book, and the entire series, enough, and I won't be forgetting this brave and wonderful world anytime soon.
