I love everything about this book omg. Kidan was full of so much rage and grief, and that led to so many unhinged (but tbh real) decisions. I love getting to read about angry, unapologetic girls—they’re so fun and real! (Although mind your triggers bc the SI in here is like frequent.)
This was an absolutely beautiful vampire story steeped in East African lore & culture. Girma’s take on vampires is so fresh and I was pretty much champing at the bit to learn everything about this world. I loved the dark academia setting and all the mystery shrouding the narrative.
I imagine this isn’t for everyone, but this book was perfect for me—if you’re seeking vampires in dark academia, some real BIPOC rep, are into flawed characters that stay flawed and prioritize their own ambitions (quite literally everyone in here—
