3/5- It was OK

First let me say that I was given this book by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I wasn't to start off with what I liked about the story.

*Their meeting- I enjoyed the way that Kannon and Nissi initially met. I am all for a fireman as a MMC in any book. I enjoyed the whole Tik Tok videos and viral moments because these are things that are realistic, and I have seen before. I can relate to the idea of it.

*The Sibling Bonds- Even though Nissi, Angela, And Aquilla would argue and talk junk to one another, you cannot mistake that they love one another. They are ride and die. I can say the same for Kannon and Kinston. These two were for sure down for one another and not one-person better mess with either group. I am always sweet on family love.

*The 5-hour date- I really enjoyed the connection that Kannon and Nissi had on their thank you date. I loved the conversation that they had and many of the things that Kannon spoke about resonated with me. Kannon came off as a man who knew what he wanted and stood on maturity. His responses were thought out and had meaning behind them. I truly loved how these two were able to be comfortable around one another so easily.

*Jovan's speech- He read Kannon and he read him well. That whole conversation was needed and on point. If your friends are not this honest I don't know what to tell you.

What I didn't like:
*Nissi's attitude- Nissi was not as likeable as I thought she would be for me. Her attitude on situations was really throwing me. I understand that she may have had things that made her fearful for love even though she wanted it, but the way she acted once thigns progressed got on my nerves. The miscommunication between Kannon and her irked me really back. She didn't give him the opportunity to explain so that she can have understanding but jumped to conclusions with out all facts.

*Begging- Kannon was made to appear weak. All the begging he did for Nissi was not attractive to me. What real man will do this much begging? I have not known one. I understand that this may be someones reality but I feel for them. No one should have to be put through this much torture knowing good and well she wanted him but was being very difficult.

*Being Difficult- I felt Nissi was difficult for no reason. That is all.

*Miscommunication- I hate it with a passion

*Place holders- I do not like when either the FMC or MMC dates someone who they really do not want while the one that they want is not available.

I didn't hate the book at all. It was an ok read for me. The miscommunication and the weak MMC with a stubborn FMC who was headstrong with a touch of arrogance is really what took the joy from me. The fact that they are playing tug of war the WHOLE book took me out. The story was written well as I didn't see a lot of errors. The story did flow as it was technically a slow burn with minor twists.
