Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass by Frederick Douglass
5.0
When I went into this book, I knew the basics of Fredrick Douglass, a man born a slave that escaped and did well with his freedom. What I learned from this book is the life story of a man with a yearning to learn and hold himself high. His eloquent observations on the unfairness of his station as a slave and hypocrisies of those that hold others in bondage, and the means by which he taught himself how to read and write. I can, in confidence, say that it is inspiring to never stop trying to learn.
