A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas

5.0

Holy crap. This book was without a doubt 5 stars for a reason! When reading the summary, I truly didn’t think I’d be interested because I typically read rom-coms of some sort. This year I decided to branch out a bit, though, and finally managed to get my hands on it this week.

Maas literally had me so captivated in Feyre’s story that I was completely tethered to this book for the 3 days it took for me to read the entire thing. I couldn’t put it down! The adventure that Maas takes us on with Feyre, Tamlin, and Lucien had me on the edge of my seat all week, and I particularly LOVE Tamlin’s adoration of Feyre and the relationship they develop over the course of this book. I loved everything about it—her writing, her character developments, the pace of the book, and the action that had me completely surprised that I had gotten through a fantasy book this fast. The ending wasn’t a total cliffhanger and I love that for those who don’t prefer a series that she made it totally content to stop after the first book. Needless to say, Maas may have turned me into a fantasy lover with this series AND I picked up A Court of Mist and Fury at the library before I even finished ACOTAR today
