Meh. I never felt the emotional connection between Axe and Elise. As a result, I skimmed over what felt like a bunch of gratuitous (repetitive) sex scenes with a massive yawn. And FFS, I absolutely hated that Bitty came across as an 8 year-old, even though she's actually 13. As the mom of a 13 year-old girl who is sweet and mature, Bitty's portrayal really bugged me. I kept thinking of her as a little girl in dresses and patent leather shoes like I used to choose for my girl WHEN SHE WAS 5. At 13, however? Never gonna happen. No 13 year-old girl I know would want to be depicted as an 8 year-old. So yeah, that bugged me a ton.
And...YET ANOTHER story involving Mary and Rhage? Yeah, that had me wanting to skip entire chapters. Don't get me wrong, I love Mary and Rhage, but adding them into yet another book feels like filler.
