Really fun enjoyable anthology read! I expected the volume to retellings but I believe these are straight adaptations. I’m familiar with most of the stories in this, but there are some I’ve vaguely familiar with or have never heard of. It is mostly super recognizable fairy tails though. But the real highlight is the art, each artist has such a unique style and ways of visual storytelling. Each story feels different because of this.
My favorite stories were “The Prince and the Tortoise” and “Give me the Shudders”
Most of the stories in this I loved. Though “Snow White” and “Hansel and Gretel” were kinda bland. I didn’t like the art style for these and they had the least personality storytelling wise. And since I already am familiar with these stories I couldn’t really think too much of them. But still all these stories are enjoyable and fun to read.
I believe these are for younger readers to introduce to them to these fairy tales and it does an excellent job, I would have loved this book as a kid.
