As a medical student, this was both hilarious (I laughed out loud multiple times) and completely heartbreaking (I am crying as I write this). The author took his time to make medical terms and slang comprehensible, so I think everyone can (and should!) give this a try, but it hit very hard for me because I know a lot of what's narrated here will become a part of my life very soon. I had a great reading experience, Kay's writing is sharp and effortless, light when it's necessary and heavy when it's inevitable, but more than that, this was a story that needed to be told. I finished the book completely overwhelmed with emotion and I cannot recommend this enough.
