Sweet marriage of convenience in Recency times.
Mina is 30, plump and a spinster elder sister in her married brother's household. Before his marriage Mina was mistress and had many responsibilities which she enjoyed. Now she has been usurped by her well-meaning but empty-headed 19 year old sister-in-law and Mina is at a loss.
Simon had his heart broken 2 years ago when the woman he adored married someone else. He realises that he needs a helpmate and a wife who can run his household. He thinks he has no heart left to give so looks for a suitable bride who could settle for a loveless but comfortable arrangement based on friendship and mutual respect.
Mina and Simon seem to be perfect for each other's requirements. Both are likeable characters and this is the story of how friendship can grow into more if only you know how to recognise it.
This is a sweet romance with no descriptive love scenes.
