Defiance isn't a straight romance, but is filled with intrigue with an urban fiction feel. The world the mcs are in is dismal. Earth was hit with meteors which caused other natural disasters. Governmental orders are loose and the MCs are following their own set of rules of survival within their own MC and neighboring club as women are treated as chattel and pawns.
