Lisa Jewell is a hit-or-miss author for me. Her last few books have been misses for me, and, unfortunately, this one also falls into that category. I knew exactly where this was going from the very beginning. By the time I got to about 15% of the way through, I decided to skip to the last 10 chapters to find out how it ended. Turns out I was right about that too. If the pacing had been faster, I may have not cared that this was so predictable, but the slow-burn of the story made it worse.
