King of Sword and Sky by C.L. Wilson

I loved the greater interaction with the Tairen in this book. They have a bigger part to play in this world and it was wonderful to see them in action.

Rain and Ellysetta's relationship deepened in this book which was great. We finally get to see them trust each other more and learn more about each other.

I liked learning about Ellysetta's real parents as well. I hope we keep seeing them so they meet up one day and they won't tragically die before they get the chance. That would just be baiting and I'd hate that.

One thing that did kind of ruin the reading experience for me was the sudden revelation of the twins powers. I felt it was so incredibly convenient, there was no hint of power before now. And suddenly the twins are almighty powerful and her mother had great power too? No way. I hated that. So unnecessary and out of the blue. If this was the point all along it should have been brought in earlier or foreshadowed better. Didn't like that at all.

But still, I'm enjoying my read through of this series. I expected Rain and Ellysetta's bond to be more established by now, it's taking its time. But I definitely want to see it through to the end now.

I want to see Ellysetta show the horrid council what she's worth and they were wron all along. She's already done so much for the Fae, bringing power and fertility back to the lands. I look forward to what she does next.
