Jade and her little sister have agreed to visit their estranged father for the summer in Vietnam at the historic house he is renovating, but Jade soon learns that the house’s history is dark and violent.  I liked the exploration of ghosts created by colonialism, but this YA haunted house story was only mildly creepy and I would have liked a bit more fear factor.
