Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein
5.0
Oh my gosh, this book. Oh my gosh, THIS BOOK.
Do yourself a favor and read Code Name Verity as soon as you can possibly get your hands on a copy. It's an amazing read. At the very beginning I found it a little slow, but once it got into the swing of things, OH MY GOSH. Code Name Verity is, at the very heart of it, about friendship and love and bravery. And it's just an amazing book. I don't want it to spoil anything, because you need to experience it all your own, so I'm not going to ramble too much on here.
But I am going to keep repeating how incredible this book is. It's just...incredibly done and rendered, and my god, how much I love the characters! And even the villains of the story are given depth, and that's a very good indicator of an amazing writer, imo.
But anyways, THE GIRLS. Amazing, amazing amazing. Plus, the story/arc/plot is great in itself. At first I struggled a tiny bit with Wein's writing, as it can be a little confusing, but I think that could be simply because I honestly don't know much about a lot of the "technical" type stuff or the "spy" type stuff. But I feel a lot more enlightened now that I read Code Name Verity!
Anyways, it's just so good. JUST. READ IT.
