The Tattooist of Auschwitz by Heather Morris

3.0

I really enjoyed this book! I was terrified to read it... thinking it was going to be insanely sad! However, now I feel like everyone should read this book!

The Tattooist of Auschwitz is about a man named Lale. Lale has left his family to go to a "work camp" in order to save his family. This "work camp", that the Nazi's call Auschwitz, is quickly turned into a jewish prison! When Lale is offered a job as the Tätowierer of the camp.. he takes it and quickly learns how to use his power for good. He figures out a way to feed and comfort the people he is trapped with. Especially the love of his life.. a women he meets within the camp. Will they both survive the trauma of this experience? Or will they become martyrs of their own religion?

This book was just... WOW! I did hate the ending of the book! It seemed insanely rushed and unbelievable! However, the rest was SOO worth it!! The story that Lale has to tell is worth knowing! He deserves every once of attention and appreciation! He is a true hero!
