slc333 's review for:
Fates Divided
by Jules Barnard
I received a copy of this book via Netgalley in return for an honest review.
I really enjoyed the story. Elena is a likable heroine and none of her choices or decisions were of the TSTL variety commonly found among the YA paranormal genre. I also really liked the development of the relationship between Derek & Elena. Although it develops quickly it was very believable as they are both Halven (half fae/human) thrown together in a pretty intense situation and really only being able to trust and rely on one another given the Fae prejudice against Halven.
I was less happy with what happened with
I was also really annoyed with the Fae attitude to Halven and how they threaten Elena and her family to get her help while at the same time acting like she is less than them. This does not detract from the story though I just got really outraged on Elena's behalf and am really looking forward to seeing her come into her own and make the Fae realise that they are not better than the Halven.

Beatrice using her powers on Derek and forcing him to kiss her and the wrench it threw into Derek and Elena's relationship as I don't think it was necessary. there was enough happening in the story, we didn't needed added relationship dramaSpoiler
