A twisting read and great introduction to this world that does have a number of moving pieces to it that can be a bit hard to keep track of.
The voice of Peter is consistently recognized as a science-users approach to magic whose mind wanders a lot. The illustrations were a welcome surprise. I did find myself thinking "Wait, who was that?" a bit too much; perhaps my sign to start keeping character indexes.
