Becoming by Michelle Obama

5.0

Becoming is an inspirational memoir of Michelle Robinson Obama, the former First Lady of the US.
✍️
The book is divided into three parts in which Michelle Obama talks about many aspects of her life (a lot of them not lesser known) such as her childhood days when she lived with her highly supportive parents and elder brother, her education in Princeton University and Harvard Law School, her interactions with former President of the US, Barack Obama at her first job as a lawyer, her life in the White House when she had to balance her duties as the First Lady along with her responsibilities towards her family, specially towards the upbringing of her two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
✍️
I found her life really inspiring specially her early life where she has proven that good education, sheer determination and hard work can help us achieve anything irrespective of our status quo. I also liked the way she made her own identity in the world as it is even harder when one, specially a woman, has a highly influencial person as partner.

I read this book while listening to the audiobook (my first) narrated by Michelle Obama on recommendation of Mrinali and Pratibha (two really inspiring women) which really enhanced the experience.
