Another mystery that moves right along. I enjoy the Grant County series, almost as much as the Will Trent one. In this story, we find Lena struggling to regain her career after she had been brutally captured (previous book) and Jeffrey is placed in a unimaginable position at the very beginning of the book. Together they unravel what prompted a young girl to hold a former friend at gunpoint, but the answers were horribly dark. Horrors are exposed that no child should have to endure.
Don't read this if you are troubled to read about violence against children.
