Things We Do in the Dark by Jennifer Hillier

4.0

Paris knows she’s about to be accused of murder when she wakes up surrounded by cops in her bathroom with her husband dead in the bathtub next to her. Oddly enough, that’s not what scares her. It’s all the media attention this is bound to bring because her husband is famous and she doesn’t need her past catching up to her. Twenty five years ago, Ruby Reyes was convicted of a similar murder and she knows who Paris really is and what she’s hiding. Now Ruby is threatening to expose Paris and she’s forced to face the demons of her past.

Honestly this was a pretty decent read! It keeps your attention, gives a couple plot twists that really add some suspense to the story. I wasn’t DYING to get back to reading (which is how I judge if a book is above average) but when I was reading, I was engaged and eager to see what happens next. An overall easy read that’ll keep your attention and keep you guessing where the story is going to end! A 3.5⭐️ from me (rounded up to 4 on goodreads) but if you normally love Hillier, you might give this a higher rating!
