I have seen so many reviews & recommendations for this book on YouTube & BookTube that I decided to give it a shot.  I was not disappointed.

This is the first book in the series.  4 books released so far.

I loved this book and there is a lot of activity going on, however it was very easy to get into.  It is definitely darker than some of the other faerie books that have been published previously.

Fortuna and her brother Damon are Nightmares and the last of their kind.

Damon disappeared two years ago and Fortuna has been looking for him ever since

She meets Collith, who she later finds out is King of the Unseelie Court.  He tells her he knows where her brother is and will help her if she agrees to marry him.  Fortuna will do anything for Damon, so she agrees.

She should have took notice of her parents warning, never trust a faerie.

A lot of the characters in this book can be described as morally grey and they are full of scheming and lies.  I loved that Fortuna wasn’t a doormat.  She is very impulsive leading to some rash decisions.  She has a specific goal in mind, and she is not willing to let anything or anyone get in her way.

You also get introduced to Oliver who appears only in her dreams and Laurie, who appears as a slave (until you find out exactly who he is at the end).  Both have the possibility to be love interests later in the series.
