This book has been sitting on my shelf for far too long and I'm so glad I finally read it.

This was such a powerful and important read, I feel like everyone should read this and it should be added to every schools required reading list too.

While this is fiction, it's heavily real and shows the experiences too many people live. The fact that this was published 5+ years ago and this is still happening and if anything seems to be getting worse is abhorrent. Something needs to change.

Starr was such a well rounded character and was so well crafted. She is a girl everyone can see themselves in and learn from.

The only thing that took away from this book IMO was all of the HP references. I could look past the Fresh Prince references as they were important to the story/ character and the Tumblr/ social media aspect was done well. However the amount of HP references in this was SO unnecessary. I found myself skipping over some passages due to that. I would love to see this book republished with those parts omitted.
