Tokyo Ever After by Emiko Jean
3.0
Here's me unprepared for all the cuteness this book just showered me:

Oh my heavens. I'm pretty convinced that this is one of the cutest books that I would ever read this year. But first things first, isn't that a gorgeous cover? Ugh, it's so pretty!! Second of all, I love The Princess Diaries so this book is up to my alley, but this is more like What A Girl Wants in my opinion.
Pros:
- the discussion of race
- Izumi is a great narrator. She doesn't over tell and keeps things concise
- pacing is also good after we got through the grueling start
- Akio is... omg. No words.
- this bodyguard trope is absolutely sending meeee
Cons:
- if you're someone who is easily bored, you might not survive the first few chapters
- there are not that much Akio and Izumi moments. this book is not purely about their romance which should be a good thing, but I would have loved to see more of them together
- if talking about royalties bore you, do not cross the threshold
- there was not much space for the plot to move around, it's literally just it. but i guess it did its job.
