This was quite a bit denser & slower than the first two books in the series, and you can kind of tell it’s the one installment that is rly just meant to feed info & set the stage. It involved a lot of characters, places, & world-building without as much as the development as we’ve seen previously. I really wanted to appreciate the multiple POVs in this one, but the narrative got kinda hard to follow at times
HOWEVER, when it did pick up around the 50% mark and the characters are actually starting to be in the same room as one another, the build up gets intense & the pay off in the end is SO good. In the end, you can see why all these things were necessary to set up the ending and the next book. Bree and Nick were (obvs) my favorite part, bc he don’t play about her!! I forgot how much I liked them together after Bloodmarked 😭. Can’t wait to see how this comes to an end, even if it takes 3+ years 😔.
