The audiobook narrator is great, which helped a lot for how long and atmospheric this book is. I kept at it for a book club, otherwise I think it would’ve taken me much longer. Very melodramatic in its main romantic arc, I honestly didn’t feel that invested in Celia and Marco (relied a lot on magical ‘fate’ and cishet pressures), and it was sometimes hard to follow all the different characters, but I liked the subplots with Tsukiko (EDS queeeeeen) as well as Bailey and Poppet. Also Isobel… I am Isobel and I SOB.
