Going into this story I didn't realize it was a short story. The idea/concept was fine, but felt a bit shallow and rushed. The community as well as the main characters lend themselves for more background information. How did they meet, how did Ryan find this job as Sheriff in such a peculiar community, how did it came to exist...
Since every sequel in this series focuses on different characters I doubt they will be more developed, but perhaps my curiosity for the town itself becomes satisfied. But I'm not sure yet if I I'm invested enough to continue with this series...
