As Mom I really liked this book. It's a little bit heartwarming, a little bit inspiring. It celebrates diversity and encourages empathy and individuality. It's a book for moms about their sons, not really a book for sons. My son had zero interest in this book outside of the pictures (the mud dinosaur, the big red dragon, the boat, and all the different colors of children together on the last page, specifically). I could see this being one of the books read to a son while he's still in utero, or perhaps during those newborn days where he's sleeping anyway. "Songs about sons for mothers"
