Wanderers by Chuck Wendig

5.0

I just finished and...ugh...wow. I had to go back and flip through the first 100 or so pages just to see and appreciate what I couldn’t see before. The characters alone are worth the long trek with them. Wendig’s book is often an all too realistic mirror for our own. That alone was unsettling. Throw in an obviously well-researched apocalyptic scenario that, once it begins, gave me the same pit in my stomach feeling as when I read World War Z. There were times when I made myself go run an errand just to be out in the world and reassure myself it’s still here and running.
